The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has uncovered an alleged foreign-funding trail linked to religious conversion activities in Rajasthan, with a Jaipur-based Protestant missionary pastor allegedly receiving crores of rupees from abroad without the required FCRA registration.
The agency recently searched two premises in Jaipur in connection with its investigation under the Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA). At the centre of the probe is pastor Ravi Mohan Pahadiya, who is associated with Hope Ministry, and US-based donor Thomas Eugene Lynch. According to the ED, around Rs 2.20 crore in foreign funds received by Pahadiya was allegedly linked to proselytisation and conversion-related activities involving SC-Valmiki communities in Jaipur and ST-Bhil communities in tribal-dominated parts of southern Rajasthan.
