These allegations are part of the ongoing legal proceedings, and the accused are entitled to the presumption of innocence until proven guilty. Despite multiple charge sheets and years of court proceedings, the case has faced significant delays, with numerous discharge petitions and appeals contributing to the prolonged legal battle. If the High Court orders day-to-day hearings, the proceedings could gain momentum, potentially bringing major legal and political consequences for Jagan Mohan Reddy. Under Indian law, a conviction resulting in a sentence of at least two years can lead to disqualification from membership of the legislature, along with restrictions on contesting elections under the applicable legal provisions.
