As the Delhi high court on Wednesday began hearing chief minister Arvind Kejriwal's plea against the arrest by ED in the liquor policy case, advocate Abhishek Manu Singhvi told the court that the timing of the arrest reeked of a democracy issue as the petitioner (Kejriwal) would not be able to participate in the election process.

दिल्ली के सीएम अरविंद केजरीवाल तिहाड़ जेल में हैं. उन्हें प्रवर्तन निदेशालय यानी ईडी ने दिल्ली शराब नीति से जुड़े मनी लॉन्ड्रिंग मामले में गिरफ्तार किया था. इसके बाद कोर्ट के आदेश पर उन्हें ज्यूडिशियल कस्टडी में भेज दिया गया. हालांकि, ईडी की कार्रवाई के खिलाफ केजरीवाल ने दिल्ली हाई कोर्ट में याचिक दायर की और खुद की रिहाई की मांग की.
