ED is NOT Binding - I don’t care if your guidance counselor told you otherwise!!! a lot of people got into colleges through early decision recently, and are being told by their guidance counselors that they are required to withdraw their applications from other colleges. This is not true. An early decision contract is not binding in any sense of the word. You can get out of it by simply claiming a change in financial circumstances, or by claiming that the aid that the college gave you was insufficient. But if we’re being honest, you don’t even need that, lawyers can back me up on this, but there is no consideration in that contract, meaning that there’s no exchange of value between both parties. Which means that the contract would never be enforceable anyway. So basically it’s worthless. And if you don’t believe me, just check out the recent lawsuits- over 36 colleges are being sued over this anyway. So don’t feel required to go to a college just because you got in ED. You have more options than you think. #ivyleague #admissions #college #earlydecision
